If you follow us on instagram (@maaikeclothing) then you probably know I have become a tad obsessed with baking of late! Cookies are one of those things that even if you screw up the recipe or cooking it is highly likely you will still produce something completely drool worthy and delicious. I am always on the hunt for the perfect choc chip cookie and I think the one from Bon Appetit might just be it.
Check out the video below and give them a try!! I do have a couple of tips to ensure an even better result
- If you can, rest the dough in the fridge for at least 30 mins (even up to 48 hours!) it gives the gluten and sugars time to relax and enhances flavour
- After about 8 mins of cooking when the cookies have puffed up take the tray out of the oven and give it a good bang on the bench to deflate, continue to to it every min or so until finished. It's totally not necessary but it creates those crispy ripples on the edges and helps pool the choc on top.
- Always keep some clean chopped chocolate separate to pop on top of the balls to make sure you get some pools of choc on top - makes them way more eye catching. I even go as far as to use a teaspoon to flick the pools of choc across the top when they come out of oven.
- Finish with a good sprinkle of flakey sea salt!
